The Kama'aina Series roll shutters are fabricated from aircraft grade extruded aluminum by the Roller Star company. Roller Star components have been tested and approved for use by the State of Florida and Miami-Dade County for use in High Velocity Hurricane Zones.

We fabricate all components to you specific size and assemble by hand for a precise fit to your home. In addition to the slats from
Roller Star each roll shutter system we build must be incorporated with a head box (what the curtain rolls up into), rails (which the curtain rides in) and an operator (gear/crank, motor or motor / remote control operator). Additional features such as manual override (in case of power failure), wind / rain sensors and key pad switches may also be incorporated into the systems.

Each system is inspected for size, style, color and operation before it leaves our facility for installation.

All of our roll shutter systems are installed using aluminum and stainless steel components and hardware-you will never see any rust !

The "dead air space" inside each double-walled slat provides a layer of insulation from the heat of the day.

The slats are a baked powder coated finish available in a variety of earth tone colors. If you live in a condominium or your building is governed by an AOAO, your Association has probably pre-approved specific color choices.
The strength of the double-walled extruded aluminum slats allows for spans of up to 14 feet wide.

Due to the weight of these units a motorized or motor / remote operator is suggested.

The kama'aina has been extensively used for retail and commercial applications where strength and security are most important.
