The Islander Series roll shutters are fabricated from slats made by the Rollac company in Texas. Rollac forms each slat individually. In their climate controlled machine room, raw aluminum coils are hoisted onto a roll-forming machine, where the long sheets of metal are formed into a double walled slat. Custom mixed foam is injected into the slat cavity, where it hardens and cures through a heating process. After being cut to finished widths, the slats are bundled by installation and sent to our facility in Honolulu.

We cut each shutter to you specific size and assemble by hand for a precise fit to your home. In addition to the slats from the Rollac Corporation each roll shutter system we build must be incorporated with a
head box (what the curtain rolls up into), rails (which the curtain rides in) and an operator (gear/crank, motor or motor / remote control operator). Additional features such as manual override (in case of power failure), wind / rain sensors and key pad switches may also be incorporated into the systems.

Each system is inspected for size, style, color and operation before it leaves our facility for installation.

All of our roll shutter systems are installed using aluminum and stainless steel components and hardware-you will never see any rust !

The polyurethane filling used in the slats is environmentally friendly and through the curing process eliminate the problem of "out-gassing" fumes.

The slats are a baked powder coated finish available in a variety of earth tone colors. If you live in a condominium or your building is governed by an AOAO, your Association has probably pre-approved specific color choices.
